What is SSH Drive Mounter?

SSH Drive Mounter mounts SFTP/SSH servers as Windows drives and also supports Dropbox integration.

Set Up SFTP Connection

1 Start SSH Drive Mounter as administrator.
2 Click "New Connection".
3 Enter connection details:
  • Name: Any name for the connection
  • Host: Server address (e.g., server.example.com)
  • Port: 22 (standard SSH port)
  • Username: Your SSH username
  • Authentication: Password or SSH private key
4 Select a drive letter (e.g., Z:).
5 Click "Connect".

Connect with SSH Key

  1. Create an SSH key with PuTTYgen or OpenSSH
  2. Save the private key as .ppk or .pem
  3. In SSH Drive Mounter: "Authentication" > "SSH Key"
  4. Specify path to private key
  5. Optional: Enter passphrase for encrypted keys

Mount Dropbox

1 Click "New Connection" > "Dropbox".
2 A browser window opens for Dropbox authorization.
3 Sign in to Dropbox and grant access.
4 A token is generated and automatically applied.
5 Select a drive letter.
6 Click "Connect".
Note: The Dropbox token is only valid for this PC. When using on multiple PCs, repeat the process.

Set Up Automount

1 Right-click on a saved connection.
2 Enable "Connect automatically at startup".
3 Optional: Enable "Reconnect on connection loss".

Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
"Connection refused" Check host, port, and username. Is the server reachable? Check firewall.
"Authentication failed" Check password. For SSH key: Is the public key registered on the server?
"Drive not available" WinFsp not installed. Run program as administrator.
Slow transfer SFTP is slower than SMB. Check bandwidth to server. Enable compression.
Dropbox token invalid Token has expired. Delete connection and set up again.
Files not displayed Refresh with F5. For large folders, loading may take time.
